Another great day at Platte

What to say other than it was a great day to ride at Platte River over the weekend, the trails were in good shape with moderate leaf coverage. The weather has held up longer than I thought it would, after that early snow in October I thought we wouldn't have a fall riding season, but have been blessed with some good riding weather lately.

Pics of the new bike

I finally got real about biking and made a purchase I'm happy with, first Chumba in the area! I was a little worried about buying a bike I had never seen let alone ridden before but after a couple of rides and some tweaking the bike climbs and rails corners like a dream. I can't explain how much better this bike is in all areas compared to my old GT, but pedaling efficiency is amazing. I'm running a much higher gear than I was before and can pin corners without worry of the wheels slipping but if they do I feel much more control. The addition of the Fox Talas 140 with 15mm axle has made a noticeable difference in front end control. All and all very happy with the bike and hope to have many years of fun with it.

Excellent Weekend

First and foremost I want to say hello to all, I have never posted anything in a blog before so anyways here goes.

I had a great weekend of riding and rediscovered Platte River State Park, I want to say that they meaning the trail crew have done an excellent job with the trails at the back of the park. I haven't rode back there in years and since then that whole area has been transformed into something wonderful. I only wish I had been going there sooner, this adds a whole new element to my riding.

Saturday was great, I started out at Lewis & Clarke in the late morning came across a couple of riders during the ride. I then waited till after four to go to Platter River and must of spent around 2 hours riding while seeing only 3 other riders on the trails. None of which had helmets on, which is just stupid! So by the time I had done about 2 laps my legs were like jello so decided to call it a day. Thinking about going out there again tonight.
