Spring Rains

I just want to get out and ride some dirt but this weather pattern were in has kept me couch bound for over two weeks! I think it looks promising for some trail riding by this Friday but then they are talking for more rain on Saturday. I guess I just need to be patient and know that the season is just starting and will have plenty of time to ride.

Subaru

Pics. from last fall @ Lewis & Clark, before riding the trails. A lot of people give me crap for driving a wagon but gotta say this car does everything I need it to and looks good, well thats subjective I guess, but anyways just thought I would post a few pics of the bike on the car!

Tranquility not quite ready to ride IMO

I just got back from riding at Tranquility since I heard it was open to ride since yesterday, I was really pumped to get out and ride some dirt for the first time this year! I started at the Fort St. entrance and thought wow the trail is in good shape and then I made a turn and there it was was rutted out sloppy mess of a trail, I was thinking maybe it was just an isolated spot but that wasn't the case. As I proceeded along it just seemed to get worse and as very tiresome to ride and felt that I was doing damage to the trail so I ended up bailing out before the North hill climb.

I'm hoping that the weather holds and dry's the trails out to where they are more rideable in the near future. I think a couple more weeks and we should have good dirt all around so I just need to be patient!

THOR meeting

Finally joined THOR today, and attended their annual meeting at the Nebraska Game & Parks Headquaters along the Missouri river today. I had been wanting to join the local non profit group for a while noe and just kept putting it off over the years.

A few of us gathered before hand to have lunch at The Old Mattess Factory just west of the Qwest Center. The lunch was very good and had a Hopoluia beer with a Rueben sandwich and fries! After a the great lunch we headed over to the meeting, and found our places in the group of about 25 or so people that showed up to the anual meeting. Roxy (new president of THOR)began the meeting off by discussing the goals that were met or not met for the previous year. The voting for the various open positions followed that and then we broke off into smaller groups to discuss the goals for the upcoming year. With a great final discussion about what our overall plans were we ended the meeting with membership renewals
